At PMI, our mission is to promote the growth of people, business, and industry through quality education and training. One way we advance our mission is by forming collaborative relationships with organizations like the National Tooling and Machining Association to provide several benefits to students in the classroom and beyond.

How PMI and the NTMA Work Together to Help Students
At PMI, we strive to provide our students with quality education and resources to help them develop the tools needed for a career in the precision manufacturing industry. Through close interaction with the NWPA NTMA, we provide our expertise, resources, and assistance to help in their mission to strengthen the manufacturing industry in the area, while also bringing a range of benefits to our students.
The NWPA NTMA Education Foundation helps institutions like PMI by providing over $14,000 in scholarships every year to students pursuing an education in trades. The Foundation also provides grants to schools for automated equipment and software technology projects. In addition, they refer companies in need of training to PMI while also helping us promote our open houses or open classes.
A recent survey of NTMA members showed that 75% of members have existing job openings, but over 90% of them have serious or moderate challenges with recruiting skilled employees to fill the positions.
With our comprehensive courses focused in manufacturing and skilled trades, PMI can help students prepare for a career in the precision manufacturing industry. With the high demand for skilled workers among the NWPA NTMA members and among companies throughout the state, PMI also serves as a valuable employment resource for manufacturing businesses looking for skilled workers.
