This one hundred twenty nine (129) hour program gives students the basic software application skills to succeed in the workplace. An introduction to Computers to an introduction to the Internet is given in this program. The Microsoft Office package is used in the program. This program gives students the option to enter the workforce at the entry level and with the computer application skills they have gained to advance in the workplace in many areas. Students in this program will be Computer Application Specialist, Data Entry Clerk, Front Office Clerk, and Software Applications Specialist. Upon successful completion of the Basic Computer Skills Program, students will receive a diploma.
Program Objective
The main objective of the Basic Computer Skills Program is to prepare students for entry- level employment in the Computer Technology field.
A graduate of the Basic Computer Skills Program will be able to:
- Demonstrate the basic computer skills needed to succeed in industry.
- To learn the basic functions of a computer.
- To demonstrate the basic skills in the Microsoft Office Package.
- To demonstrate the ability to browse, search for a specific web site, and get information off the Internet.
- The ability to design and create a presentation.
- The ability to create and manage a database.
- The ability to create a basic worksheet.

Course Description
A practical application course in Microsoft Windows XP. The course covers basic Windows XP skills and file management.

Course Description:
A practical introductory course in document design and functionality. Students should have a working knowledge of Windows XP. A familiarity with the Internet is needed as support material is available through the Internet.

Course Description:
A practical introductory course in worksheet design and functionality. Students should have a working knowledge of Windows XP. A familiarity with the Internet is needed as support material is available through the Internet.

Course Description:
A practical introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint. A basic understanding of putting a presentation together will be given.
